    The time is right to join HNTB!  We are seeking an Intern - Developer (Transportation Planning) - Summer 2019 to work in our Atlanta, Georgia office.  


    Relocation is not provided for this role. 

    Job Summary

    Under close supervision, assist departments by performing basic assignments in the areas including, but not limited to Science, Planning, Technology.  Position is usually on a part-time, temporary, or co-op basis.


    Essential Responsibilities

    • Assists project team members with various support tasks.  
    • Conducts basic research and data collection.
    • Maintains records, collections and files related to specific projects.
    • Assist in the development of presentation materials and reports.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Additional Responsibilities

    • Debugging code
    • Processing geospatial SQL data
    • Assisting in maintaining PostgreSQL databases
    • Writing scripts, primarily in python, for task automation

    Basic Qualifications

    High School/GED or equivalent

    Must be currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary degree program.

    Preferred Qualifications/Skills

    • Pursuing BS in Computer Science strongly preferred
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suite
    • Ability to multi-task and solve abstract challenges
    • Understanding of cloud environments
    • Familiar with web development, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
    • Able to work in Windows and Linux environments
    • Experienced with SQL
    • Familiar with RDBMS best practices
    • Exposure to version control systems, GIT preferred
    • Experience with geospatial data is a plus

    General Work Conditions

    Office Environment:  Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions.  Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently, and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use.
