Overview

HNTB has a summer 2018 internship opportunity available in our New York, NY office for a university student interested in a career in Human Resources/Recruiting.  This opportunity will enable the intern to gain experience and knowledge in the areas of recruiting and sourcing candidates.  The intern will provide support to two Senior Recruiters and will be responsible for engaging passive candidates through the use of LinkedIn and our recruiting system iCIMS.  This position requires good research and follow-up skills and the ability to build a talent pipeline in the technical engineering area.  This position requires 40 hours per week for the summer of 2018.

Job Summary

Under close supervision, assists assigned department(s) and/or project(s) by performing basic and routine administrative support work and other related tasks which may reflect elements of standard post-secondary business curriculum, usually on a part-time, temporary, or co-op basis.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Performs administrative tasks which may be specific to a particular functional area of activity such as preparing reports, answering the phone, receiving messages, transmitting information, making copies, editing documents, handling routine inquires and making appointments.
  • May support multiple marketing functions for a defined product or service line. Perform activities including but not limited to coordinating program development, tracking of marketing campaigns to evaluate results and provide recommendations for future marketing promotions.
  • Participates in meetings and interfaces with various teams.
  • Assists management in analyzing various data.
  • Works on special projects and provides research as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in a Human Resources discipline, or a related degree with a concentration in Human Resources
  • Graduation date from your program must be December 2018 or later
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to cold call
  • Strong organizational skills

  • Enthusiasm for learning

Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent plus working toward a BA/BS

Preferred Qualifications/Skills

  • Pursuing a bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resourcefs or related degree with a concentration in Human Resources
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to prioritize work and multi-task

  • Social Media skills preferred (Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIn)

General Work Conditions

Office Environment: Work is generally performed in an office environment in which there is only minimal exposure to potentially unpleasant working conditions. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently, and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use.
